THE MAGAZINE · A bit of background

The professional life of Clip Magazine, which is different from that of its founders, began more than thirteen years ago thanks to Dolores Lis, Emilio Navarro and Begoña Lloris.

This professional team was created long time before while its members were working for another publishing company where they renew and launch a magazine devoted to floral art that was forgotten until then.

These first ten years allowed us to learn and have information about the market. We had the possibility to meet people and have access to institutions and companies we remain in contact with nowadays.

After all this time, we thought we had to evolve and become more independent to be able to provide more services. The word “more” that appears in the name of our magazine has always been our driving force throughout these long and hard, but fruitful years.
Dolores Lis is a florist who keeps the heritage of a long family tradition. She has many years of experience and runs a flower shop with her sister in Xirivella (Valencia). On the other hand, they established a training centre where they give classes to professionals and future florists.

They are connected and committed to different associations and institutions related to the world of flowers because they would like to raise the level of this professional field as it deserves. Dolores was the first person who challenged herself to develop a specialized publication in this professional area.

Emilio Navarro, with his camera on his shoulders, has managed to “invent” a personal style to take pictures of floral creations. This is our hallmark and distinguishes us from our competitors in the market.

Hand in hand with them we find Begoña Lloris, who is in charge of managing the company and organizing the agenda to try to do as many different things as possible.

AN ANECDOTE

And… what about the name of the magazine?

We wanted to find a short, easy-to-remember and catchy name. One evening, at Dolores’ workshop, we saw some small floral pins attached by “clips”. And that was it: we found the first short and simple word of the name. Later, we added the word “flower” and the aforementioned word “more” to refer to everything that surrounds the flower. Once we had our name we started working to try to fill the 100 pages of the magazine every other month.
And this is the way we kept on working.
